Memorial Day Parade

Someone was thoughtful enough to compile a video of the 2008 Archbald Borough Memorial Day Parade. It is posted on YouTube. I embedded it below:

St. Ubaldo Day coverage

EMS/Rescue coverage for St. Ubaldo Day event and remainder of day at Jessup No. 2 has been added to calendar.

Fireman’s Parade and EMS Standby at Jessup

Firemen’s Parade followed by EMS standby at Jessup No. 2 has been added to calendar.

Coverage for Jessup No 2

We have been asked to standby at Jessup No 2 during their annual carnival again this year and to provide EMS support during the St. Ubaldo Weekend. There are signup sheets on bulletin boards at our station and we have been asked by the Leiutentant to sign up ahead of time for planning purposes. We will need weeknight crews for several nights of the carnival week (May 19-22) and the Ubaldo/Firemen’s Parade weekend (May 23-24-25). We’ve always had a blast in the past and Jessup No. 2’s members are very happy to get the help, let’s help them out again.

21 EMS/Rescue Assist to 21 Fire

Rescue 21, 21-8, 21-9 along with Captain and Lt. 21 responded to a commercial structure fire in Eynon late last night to assist FD in their efforts. 21-9 assisted with the tanker shuttle logistics at the reservoirs, R-21 provided lighting and air at the scene and 21-8 was the dedicated EMS unit on scene. 21-8/R-21 remained on scene from time of dispatch until 5:00AM when released by Chief 21. Firefighter Rehabilitation was handled by William Walker Hose Co. who also had a BLS truck on standby at the scene. Station 25 also had BLS crews on standby to provide mutual aid coverage for Archbald Borough and were dispatched to one call while we were on scene at the fireground. Thank you to William Walker Hose Co and Jessup Hose Co #2 for your assistance.

Trench Rescue I

The Trench Rescue I Class will be held at our station on April 12th and 13th. Please see Calendar in sidebar for posting…look for future postings.

Website Updates

I have updated the membership and training pages on the website. Future work will include fixing the RSS ticker (the ticker used is incompatible with the version of PHP that our host now uses). I am also determining what the best means of putting an event calendar on the site will be. The next actual content that will need to be edited is ‘equipment’ for which I will be contacting our equipment officer and lieutenant. I will also need for the history page to be updated…there is nothing post 1982 on there. It would be great if someone could put together a list in the same format as 1957-1982. You’ll also notice that this page looks horrendous…i was able to finally get the sidebar working dynamically when I realized I have work in a few hours. Everything you need is there…including the login links and stuff and I will be playing with it more tonight.
